Olive Gardens by the Times Square is my favourite. You can never go wrong with OG.

Celeste at 502 Amsterdam Ave (85/84 street) is authentic, busy, and very reasonably priced. They are only open for dinner (after 5pm), accept only cash for payment, don’t take reservations, and there might be a wait, but the food and the atmosphere is worth it!

Otto is a fun place for pizza, antipasti, and gelato as sweethunibabi said. I would also recommend Becco on 46th st., which is owned by Mario’s partner Joe Bastianich. They have a homemade pasta special every night with three different pastas, and a $25 wine list with 75 choices. Always crowded and alot of fun.

Otto Enoteca is a good pizzeria. It’s Mario Batali’s…but not ridiculously expensive. Il Corallo Trattoria is really good and super inexpensive. Fresh Basil’s Trattoria is very good too.
