My father is turning fifty in mid-February and we’d like to reserve a room for forty or so people somewhere in Manhattan. We’d either like a place that serves American (steaks, burgers, etc), Italian, or Asian cuisine that will offer us a private room. We’re also looking for a place that is BYOB so we can afford to keep our own open bar (we have no way we can afford alcoholic drinks if the restaurant serves them). We’re trying to keep the price for appetizer and entree to about $50 per person and we’ll be bringing our own cake from his favorite bakery.

If anyone knows some good places in the city that meets this description, please suggest.

I went to New York this summer and I really liked the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square…great service and great food. There are also cool things to look at like memorabilia and stuff like that.
