It would thus be pointless to spend a lot of money on organic cookery books, when they have little things to offer in additional to what you find in traditional cookery materials. However, we ought to do justice to the web sites and the cooking guides that devote special sections or chapters to tips and suggestions for healthy cooking. The organic norganic ingredients are just the beginning, there are some tricks you need to know in order to make food savory and healthy from one end to the other.

Thus, it is important to fry, stew or boil vegetables and fruits as little as possible and maintain them in a semi-cooked state that enables the preservation of vitamins and minerals. These tips however can be applied only for certain food recipes. Then, the organic food recipes that use eggs, dairy products or meat also involve special cooking operations. You should be able to make meat tender or tasty by following two or three tips only. Normally, the organic nature of the food items should make dishes savory.

Approaches To Prepare Live Lobster

When a live lobster for delivery arrives at your door carefully unpack and make sure claws all have been banded before handling. Sometimes they may slip during transit. You do not want a loose claw to grab one of your fingers as it would snap it into like a twig. Only take the bands off claws when the lobster has died.

Defrosting frozen lobster meat or whole lobsters can destroy the flavors of them. Instead take directly from the freezer and heat until they are warm not hot. This will give you delicious tender lobster that takes as fresh as the day you placed it in the freezer.

Boiling fresh live lobsters is done by placing them into a pot of boiling salted water for approximately 10 minutes a pound. Water should immerse the entire lobster within the big deep pot.

Lobsters heads hold much of the water they were boiled in so making a slight hole in them will drain out the cooking juices and seal the flavors in. The meat will be tender and mouthwatering when removed from the shells.

You can also recycle the water the lobsters were boiled in and freeze in jars or bags for soups or casseroles that you may want to make in the future.

Be sure your live lobsters are healthy. When you touch or handle a lobster its tail should curl downward and then go back to normal when let go of. You should always take a sniff of your lobsters before cooking to make sure they all smell of freshness. If there is a strange unrecognizable scent to them then never cook them as they could make you and your family sick. They are best cooked as soon as you receive them.

Timing is everything when cooking live lobsters. The harder shelled lobsters take more time than the softer shelled ones do. The softer shelled are considered to be the most tender of the two.

You can also grill whole lobsters on a hot to medium hot setting. Place the lobsters back onto grill and turn them once the shell turns a bright shade of red. Once turned cook about 5 minutes more until you think it looks done.

Live lobsters for delivery can be split and cooked on the grill too. Place split sides down first and cook three minutes then turn to shell side and cook about 6 minutes longer. The shell will be the shade of bright red as it is when boiling when done. Add some lemon juice squeezed on it and of course butter and your ready to eat.

A Variety Of Italian Cheeses

There are many different types of Italian cheeses and most are very traditional to a specific area of the country. Cheeses that have regional designations or have label with the protected designation of origin have a specific set of rules that must be followed. In order to have a label from that region it must be made in a specific way and with products from that region.

Asiago is a very famous Italian cheese. Many times the aged versions of this cheese are confused for parmesan as they are very similar in taste and texture. The texture of Asiago will vary depending on its age. Fresh Asiago has a smooth texture and aged Asiago is very crumbly. Asiago originates from the town of Asiago outside of Venice. This cheese is used frequently with cooking and can be added to sandwiches, salads, soups, pasta and sauces.

A soft mild cheese that is quite well known is Bel Paese. This cheese was specifically designed to be a more delicate style of cheese. It is made in many parts of the world but was first produced just outside or Milan. It has a very short aging time of up to 2 months and is made primarily from cow’s milk. The name Bel Paese means Beautiful country and is taken from the name of a famous Stoppani book of the same name.

Bocconcino is a type of unripened cheese that does not have a rind. This cheese originates from Naples and at one point in time it was only made using buffalo milk. However today it is also made of cow’s milk. In order to maintain its spongy texture bocconcini is packaged in water or whey. The name means small mouthful as you can eat one piece at once.

Another type of cheese made from water buffalo milk is called burrata. This cheese has two different layers and is made of mozzarella and cream. The out layer of the cheese is firm and made of only mozzarella while the inside is much softer and is made of a mixture of mozzarella and cream. It originates from the region or Apulia and is considered an artisanal cheese. You will want to eat this cheese within a day as the flavors will begin to decrease.

A traditional Sicilian cheese made of sheep and cow milk is caciocavallo. This cheese comes with its own EU designation of origin as the cows and sheep must be feed particular food and the cheese must be made in a specific way. The flavor of caciocavallo is very similar to provolone and the cheese is generally shaped like a tear drop.

A very ancient Italian cheese is casciotta d’Urbino. There are many different forms of casciotta and this type is very old and is traditionally made of mainly sheep’s milk with about 20% cow’s milk. Casciotta d’Urbino was a favorite of Michelangelo and Pope Clement XIV. The body of this cheese has a mild flavor and is white or yellow in color and is surrounded with a yellow rind.

A semi hard cheese that has a lot of fat in it is Castelmagno. This high fat content is due to the fact that whole cow’s milk is used to make the cheese. The cows must eat very specific foods such as fresh forage and hay from a meadow or pasture. Castelmagno is normally found in fondues and veloutees and is excellent when paired with fortified wines or honey.

Lots of people are under the false impression that organic food recipes are somehow different. The only major distinction is the quality of the products and their provenience. Organic fruit, vegetables, meat and dairy are indeed better tolerated by the body, they do bring more minerals and vitamins and the taste in definitely more savory. You can use any regular food recipe, but cook it using organic products to make it healthier and more enjoyable. Believing all the advertising stuff in cookery books is not the brightest idea because there is nothing special in them, and you’d pay for something you can actually get for free. Here is how you can turn any meal into an organic feast.

First of all, both vegetables and meat are necessary for a dinner course. Many hypermarkets now have special food sections where products have organic certification, and this applies to all items. It is better to buy fresh food, even if the chilled and the frozen variants are not awful either. Although both these two procedures are acceptable from the organic perspective, nothing compares to raw fresh fruits and vegetables. Don’t forget the fact that for organic food recipes, the oil, the vinegar and even the spices ought to be organic as well.

The ingredients have to be used in a very simple and little processed form. Avoid very refined oils as they no longer contain nutrients because of the industrial processing; only extra virgin organic oil works under the circumstances. Olive oil, sesame oil, palm tree oil are only a few suggestions that you can take into consideration when preparing organic food recipes. You can improve the meals you cook by checking some cooking tips either online or in books. The only difficulty is that certain organic products can only be purchased online, and therefore, you’ll need to get them delivered to your home in time.

Organic milk and organic eggs are the basic ingredients for lots of desert organic food recipes. These two kinds of products can be purchased from various sources, but the costs are a bit higher. Nevertheless, organic food recipes work great for the whole family, whether you have small children or not. By eating only organic food, you’ll be able to enjoy better health and lots of energy too. Too sophisticated organic food recipes are not really necessary, you can actually use the old ones that you normally cook but this time using only elements certified as organic.

How I Make Meat Lasagna

I love cooking and eating lasagna. However, it can be tough and intimidating, but with the right cooking tips, you can make it delicious. Most tips that you’ve heard of before, I left out and only wanted to include tips that you probably haven’t seen before. With these tips you are guaranteed to make a delicious lasagna.

Here is my first tip for a great lasagna: In my meat sauce, I combine a couple types of meat. I use beef, pork and turkey for the best flavor in the lasagna. I try to use dry lasagna noodles or the no boil variety. If you use the dry noodles, be sure to use a lot of sauce around these noodles. This will help soften up the noodles while you bake the lasagna.

This step involves buying the freshest ingredients you can find. Especially, with cheeses. With Parmesan cheese, I prefer the freshly grated type, for obvious reasons. With mozzarella cheese, you have to find the best and the freshest type of mozzarella. Just buy the best cheese and your lasagna will taste amazing. If you settle for cheap cheese, your lasagna will be bland.

Do not add liquid to your pasta sauce. You want your sauce to be thick, especially if you add veggies to your sauce. The veggies will add extra liquid to your pasta sauce.

Be sure to have aluminum foil on hand to cover your lasagna while it bakes. If you don’t use aluminum foil, it will burn on top of the lasagna. Leave it covered for most of the baking time, only uncovering it during the last 15 minutes of baking.

Be sure to put a little sauce on the bottom so the noodles won’t stick. You can also spray it with pam if you choose to.

Be sure to drain the meat VERY well to keep lasagna from being runny. This is very important. You can even use a paper towel to drain the meat.

Eggs are very important to a lasagna. You can use eggs for binder. Use three eggs with meat, spaghetti sauce, cream cheese, cottage or ricotta cheese, mozzarella, and noodles.

You can find hundreds of lasagna tips throughout the internet. I’ve just included the most important tips for your lasagna. You can also make vegetarian lasagna, but I absolutely love Meat Lasagna and that’s all I usually make. Good luck with your lasagna!

Try this easy meat lasagna recipe.

There can be little doubt that beef is one of the most popular meats in the world, and this is not likely to change any time soon.

In times of late, there has been ample argument on the question of whether beef is a safe food to be enjoyed by all, or a dangerous ‘bad’ food to be shunned at all costs.

So what are we to believe?even amongst experts, the issue is undecided, but during the course of this article we will put forward some practical facts on beef, destroy a few false rumours and make sure that you get the correct information you require to decide for yourself.

However, before we do so, here is a really tasty beef recipe that you can cook for your children or family.

This is a really tasty recipe for ‘macaroni and beef chili’. It is not complicated to make and is a simple and efficient way to feed a growing family.

Ingredients:
—————-
One Cup of Uncooked Macaroni
Lean Minced Beef : half a pound
Garlic powder : 0.5 tsp
Hot cayenne or chili Powder : one tsp
Salt : one sm. pinch
Freshly ground black peppercorns : 1 x sm. pinch
Tomato soup : one Can
Quality cheddar cheese : 1 x oz. (finely grated)

Instructions:
—————-
Bring a good sized saucepan of water to the boil and cook the macaroni about 7 minutes.
Fry the meat until browned in another good sized pan and very carefully drain off any fat that has been produced.
Add the garlic, chili powder, salt and pepper and then stir with a wooden spoon until well mixed.
Reduce the heat and fry gently for approximately 5 mins.
Mix in the cooked macaroni and tomato soup, and increase the heat.
Cook for a few more minutes until soup and macaroni are heated through.

Before you serve, add the cheese, and heat briskly till it melts.

Ladle into bowls and serve your guests.

This is a great beef recipe to cook in volume as left overs can be kept in the fridge and served the next day.
If you scale the recipe up, you can leave the cheese out and freeze portions for later. Once it is ready add the cheese, and heat briskly till it has melted.

Now you have a good beef recipe here are a few definitive nutrition facts:

1/. The zinc that is present in lean beef is absolutely essential for healthy development, improves the immune system, has been shown to help repair cuts, grazes and wounds, moderates food cravings and can improve your ability to experience taste.

2/. Many people think that one must keep clear of beef as it has high levels of saturated fat. Though this might have been the case a few years ago, lean beef in the shops at the present time is noticeably less fatty than it was previously, and over fifty percent of the fatty acids found in today’s quality beef are monounsaturated fats which are considered to be healthier than other fats.

3/. Some so-called dieticians believe that dieters should steer clear of beef. This is completely untrue, the good news is that the 80g serving of quality beef that most nutritionalists advise as a sensible daily limit, is actually less than ten percent of the general 2000 calories per day diet.

4/. If you think about it clearly, beef is virtually as good as buying multivitamin pills as it is a superb source of phosphorus, vitamin b6, protein, vitamin b12, zinc and iron.

5/. Even a 3 ounce serving of lean beef can deliver more than ten percent of ones required daily requirement of phosphorus, vitamin b6, protein, vitamin b12, zinc, iron, and niacin.

6/. Beef is rich in Important ‘b’ vitamins, which are believed by nutritionalists to assist in preventing strokes and coronaries and also help the body to manufacture red blood corpuscles.

7/. Taking the uncooked weight,, 100 grams of beef provides:

* approx. 200 kcal
* 12.15g of fat.
* Potassium, 319mg.
* 3.8mg of Zinc.
* 20.71g of Protein.

If this beef recipe is not for you, why not try something completely different? By searching online, you can easily find a good selection of chicken recipes or fish recipes that should satisfy those who don’t like beef, and if you have any non-meat eaters in you family, there are just as many vegetarian recipes to enjoy.

I hope this has given you a better comprehension of the good and bad aspects of eating beef, and also left you with a really tasty new recipe for your cookbook.
